april snowdrop, colour and ducks

This album was the first time I ever tried making a musical project that was completely instrumental. It kind of engages a different part of my brain compared to when I write 'singy' songs, so it was really fun to just sit at a piano for a few weeks and just see where these ideas would go.

Each song is based off of some type of memory from my past: 'alex lives on filson st' is about my older sister and the first house my family lived in in Ascot Vale, 'laying out on the helipad' was during a school camp when me and my friends snuck out of our tents at 3am to go look at the stars - we chose a helipad in the campsite as the viewing place. 'going to the beach with dad' was about a beach down in the Mornington Peninsula called Gunamatta Beach. We would always swim there together. It goes on and on, but they all have some link back to specific scenes and memories of my childhood
